IN-SERVICE/CEU CLASS FOR CNA/CHHA TO RENEW THEIR LICENSES
Kash Career College has been approved as a provider of Continuing Education Units for CNA/CHHA in California.
There is a mandatory requirement that 48 hours of in-service classes or CEU for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and 24 hour for Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) be attained every two years in order to maintain and renew a license.
THE FOLLOWING CEU CLASSES ARE OFFERED
Basic Math (25 CEU hours)
This course is a remedial Math class designed for students who are having problems with mathematics.
The following topics will be discussed.

- Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers
- Multiplying Fractions and Mixed Numbers
- Dividing Fractions and Mixed Numbers

HOSPICE (16 CEU hours)
Hospice is a type of care and a philosophy of care that focuses on the palliation of a terminally ill patient's symptoms. These symptoms can be physical, emotional, spiritual or social in nature. Those who are terminally ill include the sick, wounded, or dying patients. Hospice patients are treated in such institutions as hospitals, nursing homes, and also in their own homes if they would rather die there.
Goal: To make healthcare professionals feel more comfortable with DEATH; and accepting that each experiences will vary.

Medical Terminology (36 CEU hours)
This course provides an introduction to medical language for healthcare workers. It will teach the student how to break down medical terms into smaller word parts so that the meanings of the medical terms are easier to understand. Medical words are introduced in the context of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Nutrition (36 CEU hours)
This course covers the significance and nature of food as related to technological, psychological, and socioeconomic influences; values, standards, goals, and provisions for nutrition and food decisions and their relationship to health; nutrition as the provision to cells and organisms, of the materials necessary (in the form of food) to support life and the impact of public policy on food and nutrition. Cross cultural/global concerns and career in nutrition management will also be emphasized.

Human Growth & Development (36 CEU hours)
This course will provide the student with an understanding of human development over the life-span from conception to death. The student will learn about the three major developmental stages which include child, adolescent and adult development. In these developmental stages, the student will learn perspectives on development for each age group; physical development; cognitive development; emotional development; social development; and the final stage of adult development, death.
